O’Malley to address Dems in Ohio, Louisiana

Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley. (AP Photo/Patrick Semansky)Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley’s political travels this summer include planned speeches to fellow Democrats in Ohio and Louisiana.
O’Malley, the chairman of the Democratic Governors Association, is booked as the keynote speaker Tuesday night in Akron, Ohio, at the Summit County Democrat’s annual FDR Dinner.
Also looming is an Aug. 4 event that will put O’Malley in front of a statewide audience of Democrats in Louisiana.
The Maryland governor is advertised as the featured speaker at the party’sJefferson-Jackson Dinner in New Orleans. Also on the program is Newark Mayor Corey Booker (D).
O’Malley, who routinely deflects questions about national ambitions, is billed in Louisiana as the “former mayor of Baltimore … now being mentioned as a contender for the 2016 Democratic nomination for president.”
The planned appearances come amid a noticeable uptick in O’Malley’s travels around the country. Earlier this month, he spoke to Democrats in New Hampshire, the nation’s first presidential primary state.
